A – We use the national Teen Challenge curriculum to support our faith based mission.
We are uniquely blessed with an incredible location and facilities. The years of experience by our staff members is a valuable piece of the help we can offer at Lakeside Academy. Staff/student relationships aren’t just based on treatment and counseling, but we have fun and enjoy our time with your son.

Q – WHAT TYPE OF TREATMENT DO YOU OFFER?
A – The treatment approach we provide each student/client is based on an individualized clinical assessment, a collaborative working relationship, and an empirically proven cognitive-behavioral treatment model that addresses the whole person (physical, emotional and spiritual needs).
Physical health is improved through fitness, diet and stress reduction. Spiritual and emotional health is supported through spiritual lectures, group and individual counseling, MH/CD treatment platform, church services, volunteer services and a staff that prays for the students daily. While these services are offered, the work is dependent on the student/clients willingness to look deep into his own faulty perceptions (mistaken beliefs).
Q – DOES INSURANCE COVER COUNSELING?
A – No. Currently we do not accept insurance. We are working towards accepting insurance to supplement tuition costs. The counseling offered on-site at Lakeside Academy is included in the tuition rate.
Q – HOW DO I KNOW IF MY SON IS STRUGGLING WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE?
A – Today, behavioral or academic issues in teenagers most often coincide with some level of substance abuse, which can be hidden from the parent. It can have a profound effect on your boy’s attitudes, and it may be the main reason for inappropriate behavior. Fact is, it can take months away from drugs (even alcohol or marijuana) for your boy to begin having better attitudes and making better judgments. With some substances, addictions can arise from even one use; they must be dealt with before they become a life-long problem. Lakeside offers the best opportunity for overall recovery, allowing boys to truly get their motivations and lives turned around and on the right track again.
